Imported cheese, beer, coffees and chocolates, espresso, cappuccino and wine by the glass area now available at Barnacles Gourmet Grocery and Wine Shop in Blue Mountain Plaza. Patrons can order cheese & cracker plates and focaccia bread & butter at the newly opened full wine bar. The bar will open at 11 am and remain open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until 7ish and Thursday through Saturday until 10ish. The shop is well known for its wide assortment of fine wines, gourmet grocery items, and large selection of cigars. Holiday gift baskets are now available.
Blue Luna Caf‚ in Uptown Grayton announces that they have added a weekend brunch to its menu. Brunch, served on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am - 3 pm, is only $9.95 with mimosas and champagne beverages available for $1 each. The menu for the brunch will rotate every three weeks. The full lunch menu will also be available during this time.
Silver Sands Factory Stores invites church, school and community choral and instrumental groups to join them and share their talent at Silver Sands this holiday season. If your group is interested, please call the Center Office (654-9771) as soon as possible so a time can be reserved for your group to perform. Performance dates are Tuesday, November 23 for the tree-lighting celebration and the first three Saturdays in December.
The South Walton Tourist Development Center is pleased to announce the promotion of two of its staff members to the positions of director of marketing and director of beach improvements.
Julie Root, formerly the SWTDC's public relations and promotions manager, has been named director of marketing. Root has been employed the SWTDC for more than two years. Her new duties include the creation of a marketing plan positioning the SWTDC as a premier vacation destination, overseeing the public relations and sales staff, as well as coordinating promotional and advertising efforts with outside consulting agencies.
Tracy Howell, formerly the SWTDC's manager of beach improvements, is now director of beach improvement. This new position's responsibilities include supervision of the beach maintenance supervisor and overseeing daily operations such as personnel issues, budgets, construction contracts and planning, public relations and other duties related to beach improvement. Howell began his career with the SWTDC in June 1998 as the beach maintenance supervisor, overseeing the beach maintenance crew.
