Chamber members were treated to a presentation from Carol Taylor about the Florida Road Race Bicycle Championship coming to DeFuniak Springs in September. The event will draw an estimated 300+ cyclists and their families to the area for the weekend following Labor Day. The First Friday Breakfast was sponsored by Ellzey Construction.

Ken Ellzey describes the new Magnolia Lake residential development in DeFuniak Springs to the audience of July 2's First Friday Breakfast. The Chamber extends its appreciation to Ellzey Construction for sponsoring the event and to our members who contributed door prizes: L & H Automotive, Panhandle Opry, SunTrust Bank, The Bookstore and Congressman Joe Scarborough.

Chamber President Joyce Szilvasy (right) and Executive Director Pam Tedesco (left) receive the first contribution to the Chamber Foundation from Mary Lou Reed (Okaloosa-Walton Jobs & Education Partnership) who won the 50-50 drawing and donated it back to the newly formed Foundation. Later that day, Tom Powell (Walton County EDC) won a $50 gift certificate from Silver Sands at the First Friday Luncheon and auctioned it off for the Chamber's second Foundation donation. Could a trend be starting???
