Chamber Creating 1999-2000 Program of Work

Lane Rees (Human Resource Solutions, Inc.) is leading the Chamber's Program Committee in drafting the upcoming year's Program of Work, the document that details the objectives and actions of the Chamber's committees to successfully accomplish our mission. Serving with Rees are members of the Chambers current committees, Board members, and Chamber members that are not currently serving on a committee. This committee composition will help the Chamber to evaluate what we're doing, as well as gain perspective on what we're not, but maybe should be doing.

The goals the Committee is working towards include reviewing the Chamber's current committee structure and make recommendations for any needed revisions and/or additions, developing mission statements for each committee, working with individual committees to set their objectives, and determining what additional resources the Chamber may need to fulfill its mission. "The Committee hopes to develop a detailed, written Program of Work which will improve communications and clarify expectations between the Board and committees, serve as a useful tool in evaluating new program initiatives in how they relate to the Chamber's overall objectives, and help the Chamber to better evaluate its accomplishments at the end of the year," said Rees.

The final document outlining proposed activities for the Chamber for October 1999 - September 2000 will be presented to the Board of Directors for approval by September. Once approved by the Chamber's Board, the 1999-2000 Program of Work will be distributed to the membership.
