The Chamber's Lake/Bay Ambassadors joined the staff of Gulf Communication Contract's in a ribbon cutting on June 2 to celebrate their new building, Gulf Com-Plex Their beautiful new facility is located at 3590 US Highway 331 South, Suite 101 in DeFuniak Springs; 951-1117. We wish them well in their new office.
A double ribbon cutting was held prior to the May Business After Hours for the Charter Boat Rita Kay and the Emerald Queen Dinner Boat. Owners Buddy and Rita Godwin operate the boats from Harborwalk in Destin. The Rita Kay (above, left) is a 50' Sportfisherman boat featuring trolling, bottom and offshore bill fishing on 4 hour to overnight cruises. Reservations can be made by calling 837-2930.
The Emerald Queen Paddle Wheel Boat (above, right) has a 240 passenger capacity and offers sunset sightseeing and dolphin cruises with music and dancing that's great for special occasions such as weddings, receptions and reunions. Reservations can be made by calling 837-2930.
The Walton County School Board joined Freeport Mayor Mickey Marse and other officials in a ground breaking ceremony for the new Freeport High School on May 28. The new school, on US Highway 331 just north of the Freeport city limits, is scheduled to be open for the 2000-2001 school year.
